The Perfect Flirty Eye
I love a sparkly look for the holiday season. It’s fun, flirty, and goes well with party dresses and office-bar outfits. Here, I’m using the Inferno Eyeshadow Palette from NARS’ new Christmas collection. This look is quick, eye-catching, and perfect for your party season.
Use a flat fluffy brush and apply KEEP ON DANCING on the entire eyelid as a base. A light colour like this can help provide a clear and even canvas for the colours we will be using next.
Mixing two shades ROCK FREAK & DO IT RIGHT, with a big blending brush, apply it on the crease area right below your brow bone as the transition shade and contour. Remember to tap off the excess eyeshadow before applying it on the eyes, better to slowly build the pigment than apply too much.
Use a clean, flat, medium eyeshadow brush and the colour SHAME, precisely apply it on the outer and inner corner of your top eyelid, blend the colour out a little bit and connect both parts on top, leaving the middle part blank. This will help create depth while leaving the highest point (the middle part) of your eyelid blank for the sparkly highlight later. You can find the highest point by touching your eyelid and feel the roundest point of your eyeball.
Apply the same shade SHAME on 2/3 of your lower lash line, smoke it out and connect it with the colour we already built on the top outer corner.
Using your finger, generously apply the shade WISHING ON A STAR on the middle part of your upper eyelid that we left blank before in a tapping motion. Blend in out slightly so there is no harsh line between the sparkle and the deeper shade we used earlier in the inner and outer corner. The sparkle shades in this palette are super pigmented and it stays on without needing a sparkle glue, but remember to use your finger, be generous with the amount, and really press it on for a full sparkly look.
With a small pencil brush, apply LOVE AND DESIRE on the very end of your upper, outer corner and lower lash line to create a smoky effect and bring definition. Blend it out and make sure it connects with the shades we used earlier. Remember a good eyeshadow look is all about blending and it makes a huge difference. Apply the shade precisely where it should be, and blend blend blend.
With a small flat eyeshadow brush, apply SHAKE YOUR BODY on the inner corner as highlight. It should be right next to your nose contour and visible when you tilt your head up. Just a subtle glow to open the eyes up.
More sparkles! But this part requires more precision since it’s a smaller area. Using a tight line eyeshadow brush, really dip into the shade TURN THE BEAT AROUND, apply in on the first half of your lower lash line. Using sparkles on your lower eyeline is a really great way to bring attention to your eyes, the reflection of sparkles creates a great highlight for your eyes. Bring it all the way to your tear duct area if wanted.
Create a cat eyeliner by aligning the end with your lower lash line. The key for matching eyeliners is to make sure there is a straight line from the tail of your brows to your lower lash line.
Lastly, apply LOTS of mascara or a pair of falsies to complete the eyelook.
Here’s the final look! I hope you guys enjoyed the little holiday edition makeup tutorials and there will be more beauty & fashion tips from me. Talk again soon xx.
